Remembering Chuck Hale
Some of my best memories growing up in Los Banos and Dos Palos were the times I spent in 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA). It was here I made lifelong friends. Chuck Hale was one of those friends. Chuck had a passion for community service and went on to become a Merced County Sherriff Officer serving there for 18 years. Not too long ago, he became the City of Livingston’s Chief of Police. His community service didn’t stop there. He also coached football at Pacheco High School in Los Banos. It is clear to those that knew Chuck, that he lived the service-above-self, motto.
Sadly, Chuck unexpectedly passed away on May 15th from surgical complications. On behalf of Brooke and our entire family, we offer our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences. Chuck leaves behind his wife, Amanda, his daughter, Carrigan and his son Caden, who is scheduled to graduate from Pacheco High School next week.
I always say the Westside is the Best Side and that’s because of our people. I know we will rally around the Hale family, the Livingston Police Department, and the Merced County Sheriff’s Office as they mourn and grieve. Let’s support them during this difficult time.
Funeral services are scheduled for this Friday, May 26th at 10 am in the Los Banos Fairgrounds Exhibitor's Hall.
Mortgage Relief Program
Need help paying your mortgage? The California Mortgage Relief Program (CMRP) helps homeowners who have fallen behind on their housing payments due to pandemic-related financial hardships. The program works. To date, nine Merced County taxpayers qualified for the California Mortgage Relief Program. Two avoided having their properties auctioned at our recent tax auction and all of them have received relief from interest and penalties. These individuals were able to get assistance through CMRP. Here are the many ways the program is offering assistance to homeowners statewide:
